Frequently Asked Questions
Each session is entirely personalised to the client, so no two sessions are ever the same! We all have different lifestyles, body shapes, colour tones and personal requirements, each session is planned to suit the individual.
If you’re after a mix of wardrobe and shopping focused sessions, check out the Personal Style Makeover Packages here (link to page). These are completed in 1, 2 or 3 days, depending on the package you choose. I can recommend a suitable timing structure for the package of your choice.
Or, if you’re after a single Wardrobe Consultation or Personal Shopping Session, have a look through the personal styling options here.
If you’re unsure about what’s suitable for you, contact me with some information about yourself and what you’re hoping to achieve from your Personal Styling Session.
Simply email me with your session choice, preferred dates or days of the week that generally suit you best and preferred start time. I’ll confirm availability with you and then send through the payment details to proceed with the booking.
For an initial session focusing on current season clothing, shoes and accessories, I recommend 4hrs – 6hrs. We’re able to focus on items across weekend, social and work wear and move through more items and stores with a longer duration.
If you’re after predominately clothing pieces across work and social weekend wear, possibly a pair of shoes and a couple of accessories, I recommend 3hrs – 4hrs.
If you’re after some core clothing basics to build your wardrobe on, we can start with 2hrs – 3hrs.
This is purely a guide, we can shop for however long you like and we’ll prioritise items that have the most wearability for you and your lifestyle.
Most wardrobes take about 4hrs to complete. This is based on a general wardrobe that doesn’t have excessive amounts of items and may have been cleaned out within the past 6 months to a year.
If you have a lot of clothing, shoes and accessories and haven’t cleared out your wardrobe in quite some time, I recommend 6-8hrs.
If you have a collection of items on the smaller side, 2-3hrs is a good starter.
We will focus on the items relevant to the season we are in at the time of your session (Autumn/Winter, Spring/Summer).
Your shopping budget is entirely up to you and what you are comfortable with. A good way to get an idea of your ideal budget is to make a list of all of the items you would like to have in your new wardrobe, then next to each item write down a comfortable price point.
For example, you might list:
- Basic T-Shirts – $40 each x 2
- Dress – $120
- Jeans – $100
- Smart Casual Tops – $60 each x 2
Then at the end of your list, total up the price and you’ll get an idea of how much your entire wish list would cost you.
We’ll prioritise the items that are most useful to your lifestyle and the pieces you will get the most wear out of instantly.
This depends on what we are shopping for, how long we’re shopping for and your approach to your wardrobe. Some people like to have lots of items, while others prefer a more minimalistic approach. This comes down to your personal requirements and budget.
Yes, I conduct a pre shop in the stores before we begin shopping. I’ll use your answers from your Personal Style Questionnaire to research items and select the most suitable stores with the best scope of variety for you. There may be some cases where we visit a store I haven’t pre shopped in, but I am well aware of what’s available. Even in a pre shopped store, I’ll often add extra items into your change room to experiment with.
We can shop anywhere in Sydney. I find the widest variety of product and retailers are in Sydney CBD, Macquarie Centre, Westfield Miranda, Westfield Parramatta, Castle Towers, Westfield Penrith and Macarthur Square, depending on your location. We can also head to local shopping centres or boutique strips in your local suburb if you prefer, however, I find shopping centres with multiple retailers give us more choice in the time we have.
For Virtual Styling Sessions, we can shop absolutely anywhere online. I’ll ensure the retailers included in your session ship to your location. With online, we have access to larger online retailers that hold thousands of options at any one time, as well as the smaller online stores and the retailers we have access to in the shopping centres.
We’ll shop in stores that I feel have the best items in store for you, based on your body shape, lifestyle, ideal personal style, shopping budget, preferences on fabric and quality as well as stores that are in line with any personal requirements you may have, like shopping with sustainable brands for example.
Never. I work entirely independently and am not affiliated with any shopping locations or retailers and receive no benefits or commissions from your purchases. Any stylist discounts retailers offer are passed onto you.
Absolutely! I work with men and women and offer the same service options to all.

I have clients ranging from early teens through to 90! I work with every age group. Each session is personalised to the client and their specific needs. However, teenagers need written content from a parent or guardian and the parent or guardian must be present during the service.
I service most suburbs across Sydney, including Sydney CBD, Inner West Sydney, Western Sydney, North Sydney, North West Sydney, North East Sydney, South Sydney, South East Sydney and South West Sydney. There is no travel fee for any of these locations.
For clients out of service areas, I recommend a Virtual Personal Styling Session (link to landing page) or, you can book a Personal Shopping Session for a location within the service areas.
For areas outside of the service areas listed above and in the terms and conditions below, a travel fee applies. If you’re unsure of your suburb, contact me to ask.
On request, Hayley is available to service the lower Blue Mountains and for additional travel fee of $75.00 and the Northern Beaches for an additional travel fee of $150.00.
You can either pay online, using the secure check out link I will email to you to pay for your session. You can pay securely via Stripe using credit card, visa, master card or American Express.
Or, you can pay via bank transfer. You will receive an invoice with the bank details for you to complete the payment.
There’s no need for the session dates to be booked consecutively, but they can be if you wish. Otherwise, I recommend booking your session dates within 3-week period.
I take bookings from Monday to Sunday. It is recommended bookings are made well in advance to secure your booking, particularly for weekend sessions or sessions conducted during holiday periods which can book out months in advance.
At the time of making your booking, I will email you a list of what you need to do to prepare for your session to make the most of our time together. For all sessions, a Personal Style Questionnaire must be completed prior to your first session.
